Randy Baldwin, President/CEO of Tucson Old Pueblo Credit Union, hands the check to Capt. Richard Harper, founding advisor to the Tucson Police Foundation, Inc. and commander of TPD's Training Division

The foundation is proud to announce the Tucson Old Pueblo Credit Union as the Title Sponsor of the Tucson Police Foundation's 2nd Annual Run Down Crime 5K event.

Tucson Old Pueblo Credit Union opened its doors on January 21st, 1935 with a single employee and was located in Tucson's original Fire Station #1 downtown. Over the years, membership grew to include not only "Tucson's Bravest" (Tucson's firefighters), and "Tucson's Finest" (Tucson's police), but all City of Tucson employees, as well as serving the entire community as they do today.

From the original 19 members and $30.75 in total assets in 1935, to 18,000 members and $150 million in total assets today, they will continue to embrace the credit union philosophy of "People Helping People," and proudly serve as an important part of the financial stability of so many Tucsonans. Please visit https://www.topcu.org to learn more about the credit union.

The day's Run Down Crime events will start with a 3.1-mile cross-country run/walk, followed by a 1 mile Health Walk and end with the kids' favorite, the Mascot Chase! After the race, come and celebrate your accomplishment with food, drinks, music and displays set up by the Tucson Police Department and other sponsors. The Run Down Crime event directly contributes to the Tucson Police Foundation's purpose to foster, support, develop and implement public safety and crime prevention programs through community building, education, and outreach.
